i never met her . . .

By Lesle | January 22, 2009

in real life.

I had hoped with all my might Janice would be able to swing Scrapfest last year, but she wasn’t able.  I am sad that I never had the chance to meet her before she left us for good.

I borrowed this layout from her gallery at Scrapjazz. She was an inspirational and prolific scrapbooker.

Was.

I really can’t believe she is gone.

She was so sweet. Witty. Funny. Encouraging. Nurturing. Inspiring. Caring. Thoughtful. Loving. Her smile was infectious.  She adored her family so much.

Tam found a wonderful quote she posted on the board . . .

It is still so new & all we see is the empty space, but that is not how it is in the landscape of the heart. There, there is no empty space & she still laughs & grapples with ideas & plans & nods wisely with each of us in turn. We are proud to have known her. We are proud to have called her friend. (Brian Andreas)

It’s difficult for some to understand how we can become so close on the board.  Distance does not matter for some reason.  Occasionally we fight like sisters getting on each other’s last nerve.  And Janice was a good “mom”, reminding us that we care about each other and why we care.  We have become so involved with each other that all the little things, and big things . . . and everything in between . . . matter.  Even if we have never met in person . . . it matters.

I wish I had met Janice in real life . .  even though I never had the privilege, I’ll miss her terribly.

How sad. Thanks for letting me know. I am sure all of her genealogy work and family history layouts will be even more precious to her family as time passes. She was truly a kind and classy lady.

There is a hole in our world that Janice filled. I, like many others, will miss seeing her fill that hole with her love and warmth.
